Joanne Turner's Resume
Graduated from Immaculata College in 1966 with a Bachelor of Music Degree. Attended two years of Graduate music classes at Temple University in Pa, and Cal State Hayward, in California. Studied piano and violin for 16 years.
1966-1985 - Taught public school instrumental and vocal music for 20 years in Pennsylvania, Florida, California and Kwajalein Island in the South Pacific. During that time I conducted bands, orchestras, choruses, jazz bands, guitar, and general music.
In 1985- I transitioned to the corporate World and worked for Pacific Telesis as a computer teacher and course writer.
In 1987 - 1995 Worked for 3COM Corporation as a Course Developer, then Head of In-House Technical Training and in the last 6 years at 3COM Corporation was promoted to the Manager of the World -Wide System & Sales Engineer Training Program. This involved overseeing 7 different training divisions with engineers from 15 different countries.
Musical experience & Musical leadership experience
While working as a teacher and in the corporate world In California, I played 1st and 2nd violin in the following community orchestras: Marin County, Symphony of the Mountain, California Symphony, and the Diablo Symphony.
I was personnel manager for Symphony of the Mountain, and helped the Diablo Symphony with organization and marketing.
From 1975- 2013 I sang soprano with the Blackhawk Chorus
In 2012- present - Played violin in the Kamuela Philharmonic
2012-present- played in the Chamber Orchestra of Kona
2012-present - sang Soprano in the Kona Choral Society
Presently am Vice President of the Kamuela Philharmonic, head of the fundraiser committee and head of the Artistic committee.
